A is for Abolitionism is a book about modern slavery, which seeks to inspire a new generation of abolitionists. Structured through The Anti-Slavery Alphabet, printed in 1846 for the Philadelphia Abolitionist Fair, demonstrates the similarities between the past and present of slavery, its closeness, and our active role in its perpetuation. More than 200 years after the last abolitionist wave in the colonies and new states, slavery continues to exist throughout the world, in greater numbers than ever.
