Nicolás Barreto

Leads the Self Publishing project

Nicolás Barreto Pérez (Tenerife 1995) studied graphic design and photography between universities in Tenerife and Milan, before taking a master’s in editorial design at Elisava in 2019. He joined Apartamento the same year, put in charge of the graphic design of both the magazine and regular publishing, and stayed for 4 years and 6 months. During these 13,000 hours of work, he designed 9 issues and 31 books. In the meantime, he’s been developing an art practice around photography, printed matter and truth on social media.

“I like to think of my classes as an opportunity to wonder what’s the future of print while the screen world becomes more confusing everyday”
