Typography teacher and consultant for the Master projects
Laura Meseguer is a distinguished type and brand designer. For over 20 years, she has produced custom lettering and typefaces for brands, cultural institutions, and publishers. Craftsmanship and collaboration are the hallmarks of her practice, imbuing traditional techniques with an experimental twist. Rigour and joy are her animating principles. Laura has been a teacher for almost 20 years, and some of her students have become accomplished professionals today.
Since 2019, she has been the academic director of Tipo-g, an educational project in type design that gathers together Barcelona’s type design scene with future professionals. She also gives lectures and workshops around the world. Her typefaces are available on Type-Ø-Tones, her own type foundry, several of which have won certificates of excellence from the TDC of New York and the Laus Prizes from the ADG-FAD in Spain. In 2018 she got the Premio Gràffica in recognition of her career “for paving a path in the typographic world in Spain.”
“My typography classes are focused as a workshop where theory classes are combined with practice and where there is a continuous exchange between students and teacher. The aim is to establish knowledge and provide tools for the development of their projects”.
