Malva Sawada

Teaches Art Direction in the Spanish edition of the MVD

Malva Sawada is an independent art director and graphic designer based in Barcelona. Graduated in graphic design from EASD Valencia, she worked at Sebastián Alos Studio and developed different projects as a freelance in the artistic field for clients such as IVAM Museum. She arrives to Barcelona in 2008 where she study the Master in typography at Escola EINA.

For several years she works at Clase BCN where she evolves as Creative Director. Since 2018 she runs her own studio specialized in creative direction, brand identity and visual communication with focus on art direction and packaging for lifestyle and fashion clients among others. Her projects have been awarded with several Laus and ADCE Awards. She was jury of both awards in 2017 and 2018.

“There is no defined path, strict recipe nor ultimate plan when it comes to Art Direction. Together we will analyze the varieties of visual codes, search for unexpected resources and mark new and own points of view.”
